Year-Round Camps

Offering year-round music and art camps for ages 6 through 15, we have no-school/out-of-school camps, mid-winter camp, and spring break camp. All camps feature music and other art forms.

Camps for everyone

National Conservatory of the Arts offers a wide array of camp options for students ages 6 - 15 who are looking to broaden their musical talents.

One and Two Day Camps

The National Conservatory of Arts’ No-School Camps Camp runs on various days throughout the year. The no-school days usually coincide with the DCPS and some charter school schedules. This is a great way for students to play and learn about specific instruments and sing. Our camp days start at 8:30 am and it features music instruction on a specific instrument, art, music theory, music history, arts and crafts, and outdoor activities. If the weather permits, the students will walk to Upshur Park or Rock Creek Park for free play. By the end of the camp day, which is 3:00 pm, students will have a full day of music and art.

Tuition: $135 per day. (for multi-day camps, see below for tuition prices)
Ages: 5-13 (siblings that are under the age of 6 may be permitted but please get in touch with us before registering)
Before care: 8:00 am - 8:30 am (included)
After-care: 3:00 - 6:00 pm (late afternoon snack included)
Lunch Included (cheese pizza)
Mid-morning & mid-afternoon snacks included.

Piano and Drums: Spring Break Camp

April 14th-18th, 2025

Students will be introduced to the piano and various types of drums. Students will learn basic piano techniques as well as more advanced and challenging repertoire depending on their level. They will be taught solo repertoire as well as group piano pieces. Students will have group piano lessons and classes every day and will learn beginner and intermediate music theory. Students will be introduced to the drum set, african drums, hand drums, and the xylophone and glockenspiel.

Build & Play Ukulele Camp

June 23rd-27th, 2025

Students will be introduced to the ukulele and build their own ukulele! Students will be taught solo repertoire as well as group pieces. Students will have group piano lessons and classes every day and will learn beginner and intermediate music theory.

Piano and Voice Camp

Students will be introduced to the piano, and basic vocal techniques as well as more advanced and challenging vocal exercises and songs. They will be taught solo repertoire as well as choir songs

Drums Summer Camp

July 14th-18th, 2025

Students will be introduced to various types of drums such as the drum set, African drums, hand drums, and the xylophone and glockenspiel. Students will have fun learning and performing group pieces in a drum circle setting, as well as having private lessons on the drum set and the xylophone. Students will also learn group repertoire on the glockenspiel as well as learn music theory with an emphasis on note values and rhythm.

Electric Guitar & Bass Summer Camp

Piano Intensive Summer Camp

July 28th-August 1st, 2025

Our 5-day intensive is for late beginners through advanced pianists from upper elementary to high school. The camp will be led by NCA's distinguished piano faculty. Participants will also have a chance to hear professional budding professionals perform on our very own stage and talk with them afterward. NCA Summer Piano Intensive will expose pianists to the many skills, careers, and passions and prepare them for success in piano study during the school year as well as performing arts high school auditions and beyond.

*Beginners that have had some previous training are welcome

Students will be introduced to the piano, and it's beginner repertoire. Students will learn all of the fundamentals to set them up to start piano lessons with The National Conservatory of Arts immediately after. The tuition includes the registration fee and books. This is the perfect camp to prepare students for formal study in piano.
