Lessons for everyone
National Conservatory of the Arts offers a wide array of class options for both kids and adults who are looking to broaden their musical talents.
Private Lessons
Private music lessons are a type of formal instruction in playing a musical instrument or singing. Typically, a student taking music lessons meets their music teacher for one-on-one training sessions ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes in length over a period of weeks, months, and years.
Lesson duration recommendations according to age:
-
Ages 3.5-5 should take 30-minute lessons
-
Ages 6 and over should take 45-minute lessons
-
Ages 6 and over can take up to 60-minute lessons
-
Ages 12 to adults can take up to 90-minute lessons
Partner Lessons
Partner or "pod" music classes are private music lessons with only 2 students. Geared for siblings within the same age range, friends, and parent/child combinations, partner classes allow the teacher more freedom to tailor the curriculum to each individual, than what they would have in a full group setting. There isn't a set schedule for partner classes, their times are arranged as private lessons are arranged, at the convenience of the students.
-
Partner lessons are available in 30-minute, 45-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute classes.
Group Music Lessons
Group music classes are a type of instruction where students learn music in groups where there at least 4 students but no more than 10. The majority of music learned by students will be the same, and they will often play in unison with each other during class. Students will also learn solo repertoire as well as ensemble music, or music with different parts within the same piece.

Most group classes are 30 minutes and are $125 per month
Monthly Masterclass
All students participate in monthly classes, which focuses on musical development, interpretation, performance, and performance anxiety strategies. Students are coached on solo and ensemble repertoire and learn from observing and participating in the work of fellow students. This class provides a venue for students to perform each month and to discuss the various stylistic periods, genres, and performance practices relevant to their repertoire.
