Homeschool Music Programs

The National Conservatory of Arts is honored to offer a superior homeschool music education experience for homeschoolers. The National Conservatory of Arts offers discounted music lessons and classes during weekday mornings. NCA offers homeschool music lessons in piano, guitar, drums, voice, ukulele, violin, cello, and more!

Private Lessons

Private lessons are the cornerstone of a superior music education program. We encourage all students to have at least one instrument that they can dedicate private lessons to. Private Lessons are ideal for quick learners that may go too fast for Partner Lessons and Group Classes. Private Lessons are a mainstay for upper-level beginner students, as well as intermediate and advanced musicians. We offer Private Lessons in piano, violin, percussion, drumset, cello, voice, guitar, ukulele, electric guitar, and mandolin.

30-minute Private Lessons $189.50

45-minute Private Lessons $262.50

60-minute Private Lessons $333.90

An average month is 4 weeks. Tuition for months with 3 or 5 weeks will be adjusted accordingly.

Partner Lessons

Partner lessons are private lessons with 2 students. Partner lessons are a fun and efficient way to introduce children and adults to an instrument. This lesson model is ideal for beginner students, or those with little experience on the instrument. We offer Partner Lessons in piano, violin, percussion, drumset, cello, voice, guitar, ukulele, electric guitar, and mandolin.

30-minute Partner Lessons $160.00

45-minute Partner Lessons $235.00

60-minute Partner Lessons $310.00

An average month is 4 weeks. Tuition for months with 3 or 5 weeks will be adjusted accordingly.

Group Music Classes

Group Music Classes are the most economic way for beginners to learn a new instrument. It can be a very fun way to start the journey of music - with friends. Group Music Classes are usually 50 minutes and classes follow a style of instruction that focuses on ensemble playing. We offer Group Music Classes in piano, violin, viola, cello, string bass, percussion, drumset, and voice. Group Music Classes must have at least 3 students; classes with less than 3 students will be upgraded to either partner lessons, or private lessons, after 3 weeks of the start of class. Families and friends can also create their own Group Music Class with a custom schedule if there are 3 participants studying the same instrument.

Capital City Youth Orchestra

In Partnership with DC Strings, the National Conservatory of Arts is honored to present a dynamic orchestral program specifically for homeschoolers. The Capital City Youth Orchestra, warmly called CCYO, is comprised of mostly homeschoolers from the DMV area

 

CCYO offers group classes in strings. If you are undecided on an instrument, we will be glad to help you choose one! You are welcome to scroll up and choose from our private and group lesson options above.

Orchestra as a stand-alone class

$75 per month

Orchestra Rehearsal Class is 60-minutes in duration, and we meet every Wednesday at 11:00 am. Our conductor is Maestro Andrew M. Lee.

Maestro Adam Gonzalez

Adam Gonzalez, cellist, has performed for over 40 years in a wide variety of music styles such as classical, contemporary, and rock. He is a veteran of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, the New Mexico Symphony, and the Mexico City Philharmonic. Mr. Gonzalez has been a member of the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Mexico Symphony. Mr. Gonzalez is currently a member of the Trio Giocoso, and the Azimuth String Quartet, and has performed extensively in the Washington DC metro area. He has recorded commercially for National Geographic and the History Channel. He was also a founding member of the Mariner and Helios String Quartets.

Gonzalez has taught at Georgetown University, Montgomery College in Maryland was Director of Instrumental Music at the Waldorf School in Baltimore. Since 2007, Mr. Gonzalez has taught classes in Music History, Music Theory, Composition, and private cello lessons, at Frederick Community College and Music History at Carroll Community College. He is also a Solo Teaching Artist and the Music Director of The Quicksilver Dancers, an improvisational performance group under the auspices of Arts for The Aging.

Mr. Adam Gonzalez is a graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois in Cello Performance and earned a Master of Arts in cello performance from Boston University. He teaches students ages 7 to 97 and welcomes students of all levels, beginner to advanced.
