Musical Theater After School Program
The Integration of Singing and Acting
The National Conservatory of Arts’ innovative CCMP - Musical Theater curriculum will cultivate and nurture the creative artistry of motivated students who wish to develop their combined talent as singers, and actors. Students will be encouraged to fully integrate their training received from NCA’s outstanding music education they receive in the Capital City Music Project to become well-rounded young musicians.
Our curriculum is designed for the young enthusiastic singer who seeks a program that fully integrates the study of voice with the study of acting. We're committed to the traditions of classically-based vocal training while creating an environment that allows young students to explore the range of musical theatre and popular repertoire expected of today's singers. Students will also take acting and dance classes taught by working professionals in the industry and voice training with leading vocalists from Washington DC's professional music community. Students will also have an opportunity to cross traditional lines and take classical voice training and participate in opera excerpts.
